White River Dollars for Scholars Buckley, WA
White River Dollars for Scholars is a volunteer-driven grassroots organization whose mission is to help local White River School District graduating seniors access higher education.

Co-Secretary and Fundraising Chair October 2012 – present

• Update and maintain donor database.
• Prepare and mail annual solicitation letters.
• Research and apply for new funding avenues.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk Seattle, WA
The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60 mile walk over the course of three days. Thousands of women and men come together to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

Walker and Fundraiser August 2005 – August 2009

• Train for and complete 60 mile walk
• Raise money through donations and fundraising events; more than $12,000 to date
• Recruit new team-members
• Plan and organize annual fundraising events including recruiting volunteers and soliciting donated items
• Raise awareness to fund breast cancer research and treatment.

Challenge Day Puyallup, WA
Challenge Day is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide youth and their communities with experiential workshops and programs that demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, truth, and full expression.

Adult Facilitator October 2008

• Participate fully in the program along with approximately 100 students
• Facilitate small group sharing allowing all students to participate
• Share openly and provide an atmosphere of trust and safety

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Seattle, WA
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world with well over one million participants since 2005.

Northwest Folklife, founded in 1972, is an independent, nonprofit organization that promotes the cultural heritage of Pacific Northwest communities.

Auction Volunteer November 2006

• Check in attendees for annual benefit auction, answer questions and distribute auction packets
• File auction slips in appropriate folders after each item is auctioned off
• Check out attendees, process payments and file receipts in appropriate folders

White River Band Booster Club Buckley, WA
Formed in May 2001, the purpose of the White River Band Booster Club is to benefit and promote White River Middle School and High School band programs.

Parent Volunteer May 2001 – June 2004

• Founding member
• Chair Winter Concessions including volunteer recruitment and organization, scheduling, track and order inventory, stock concessions stand and tally and record all proceeds
• Obtain donations and supplies for annual Bingo fundraiser
• Chaperone students on band trips to Disneyland and San Francisco, CA
